Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KMCT College of Engineering Kozhikode was established with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Department started functioning in 2014 and offers programmes leading to Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the University of Calicut approved by AICTE with an annual intake of 60 students. Being a part of an institution that constantly works towards for excellence in education, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KMCT College of Engineering trains young aspirants to survive and thrive in today’s world of extreme competition. In the midst of imparting theoretical and practical subject knowledge, Department of Electrical and Electronics at KMCT College of Engineering targets the holistic development of a student – intellectually, emotionally, psychologically and physically thanks to the superlative facilities being offered to the students.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KMCT College of Engineering is honored to have well qualified and experienced faculty and an equally zealous technical team. The faculty members are unique by competent and each forms as essential component in the giant wheel that continuously steers our department to greater heights with their sheer dedication, depth of knowledge and approachability.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KMCT College of Engineering is also actively involved in conducting faculty development programmes, job-oriented short-term training programmes, continuing education programmes for engineering professionals and academic faculty.

Workshops and laboratories
1. Electrical Workshop
2. Electrical Measurements Lab
The laboratory is designed to make the students familiar with measurement of different Electrical parameters such as very low resistance, Capacitance, Inductance, Power, Voltage and Energy etc. and calibration of various meters.
3. Electrical Machines Lab
The Electrical Machines lab lays a foundation for the study of electrical machines, their characteristics, applications and testing of such equipments. The lab is also best suited for fundamental and advanced research and training.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KMCT College of Engineering started functioning in 2014. The installation works for the following laboratories of higher semesters are under processing.
4. Power Electronics Lab
With an overview of the basic principles of electronics and circuits designing techniques, the emphasis is laid on various facets of power electronics using SCR's , UJT's, DIACS,TRIACS etc.
5. Simulation Lab: To provide experience to students in computer simulation of systems with emphasis on domains like Control System, Power Electronics, Signals and Systems and Power System, using various softwares.
