The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 2001 with a sanctioned intake of 60 and later on in 2004 it was increased to 120. In 2010, the department started M.Tech program in Digital Signal Processing with an intake of 18. The B.Tech and M.Tech program offered by the department follows the curriculum and syllabi as well as rules and regulations of APJ ABDUL KALAM Technological University.
To impart excellent technical education and to produce ethically sound and globally competent electronics engineers that produce creative solution to societal needs.

The department offers Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) programs that benefit the students who are keen on knowing subjects from traditional to modern aspects of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department is well equipped with modern laboratory facilities and good infrastructure. The department has major laboratories namely; Analog Electronics Lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Communication Lab, Advanced Communication Lab, Microprocessor / Microcontroller Lab, Very Large Scale Integration Lab, Digital Signal Processing Lab, Programing Lab, Power Electronics Lab supported by latest Software Tools. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties to mold the careers of the students. The department has its own student association named “ELECTRA” and conducts many technical talks, seminars, quizes etc. The department is also associated with other professional technical associations and societies namely IEEE, ISTE and IETE, which give the students to improve and update their technical knowledge and personality development.
